Just was wondering who makes a good "user" or "battle ready" Viking sword. thanks

Albion armory sells a good one for about 424$. but you have to tell them to sharpen it else it will be dull. it is in the squire line.

If you're not willing to spend that much. SAVE up longer. There is no such thing as a good sword on the cheap.

Cold Steel makes one, but their swords are supposed to be monstrously heavy. That said, they came out of the box sharp and ready to go with no extra charge, too.

Kind of depends on which sword/etc you're talking about. Quality seems kind of inconsistent - likely because of the various outsourced manufacturing Cold Steel does.

Look under Viking Sword here:

probably around USD $250-300

I agree that cold steel's swords are inconsistent. I got a katana years ago and the thing is very well built. I then got a chisa katana from them and the saya was a loose fit and the wrapping was very sloppy. I sent it back and they sent me a new one that's also been going strong for years now.

I Think they are designed more as a pseudo light use costume sword more than anything else. Cold Steel's are also made in China, Albions are US made.

Albions next generation do come out of the box sharp. The squire line are shipped with out an edge to help keep the cost down.
