Hello all,

Once again I will be visiting your beautiful country to recharge my battery for another year in the rat race of which I have 15 more ahead ;).
This time I'll be traveling from San Francisco up North to Seattle and then slowly decent along the Oregon coast.

I have been trying to find an internet dealer in the US where I can buy a Grohmann #4 Survival knife but with a Carbon steel blade and flat ground but somehow Google hasn't pointed me in the good direction.

If someone knows where I could order the above blade for a reasonable price and have it delivered in Seattle before September 18/19 I would really appreciate it.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Knives Direct has them. Select the #4 then search for carbon and flat in the menu. $107 - yikes. I found the saber ground stainless on EBAY NIB for $50 and couldn't pass it up. I love this knife and wish they had more of a following in the US. It's product code is R4CF.

I may order the bird and trout in flat carbon - but $70+.

Thanks,

I just placed an order at Cabellas but didn't see the Grohmann #4 Carbon Flat grind but will look at the other site.

$107 + postage I understand your "yikes" as I found the standard stainless steel ones for around $65.00

Cheers,

Didn't know Cabela's would make to order...I selected mine here:

I love the carbon flat grind. It still came with a pretty steep shoulder at the bevel. A little reprofiling with sandpaper and it's razor sharp. The sheath isn't the greatest, and when I get back stateside, I need to get a new one. For a camp knife, it's very "nessmukesk" and performs quite well in that role. I personally love that design.
