Where Can I Find a Saw Guard for my Vic Safari Trooper?

I just received a new Victorinox Safari Trooper from the UK - while I was otherwise delighted with this knife, I was disappointed to find the saw guard missing. Anyone have any idea where I can find one? Suggstions? Other ideas? Thanks for your inputs.
Best Wishes,

Vic has good customer service. If Victorinox won't provide you with one, there is a guy on Ebay who sells Vic parts. Also Google "Feline Vet" and he might be a source.

Not looking at this from a collector angle, but rather as a comfort/safety issue - when using the cap lifter or can opener at the end of the saw blade, I might want to wrap my hand around the blade. Anyone know if the Vic Safari Troopers all came with a saw guard or not?

I am almost certain that the Safari Trooper I got for Christmas in 1978 did not come with a saw guard. Perhaps the guard was added later, though. In any case, you have one heck of a nice knife. :)

I've got a German army knife, a military variant in the 108 mm range, which does have a saw guard. My civilian variant didn't come with one. Since these knives are discontinued, it's probably hard to find one. The only suggestion that comes to my mind is hunting for a 108 mm German army knife with a saw guard.

I've got Troopers with a saw guard and without. While I think its better to have a saw guard it's not that big a deal. One thing to watch
is that you might find a guard and when it's fitted it makes the saw harder to close. I've found that if the knife comes with a guard, fine,
it should fit, but if it doesn't, fitting one isn't always a good idea, because they can be a poor fit and rub the liner/blade when closing.

You might try making your own guard. The metal used for the guard is very thin. I'd try cutting a rectangle from a heavy duty foil roasting pan, and then simply fold it over the saw.
