My grandpa just found out his cancer is back and he is gonna have to start another round of chemo (2nd time in a year)--The first round did him in pretty good and I'm not sure how long he is gonna be with us. I am very close to him and have spent a few weeks every summer while growing up working with him doing masonry work. He is also a woodworker and I have tons of wooden toys he made for me that my kids now play with. He also made my wife a beautiful display table. I recently realized I dont have anything made by him that is special to me. I asked him to make me a set of handle scales for my Becker and sent him 2 slabs of dymondwood along with a spare set of Grivory scales that Oregon sent me. I don't think I want to use them, I would rather put them on a nice BK2 and put it on my mantle. Is there anywhere that sells a BK2 that isnt just the regular factory one? I figured a 2 would be a good idea since I already have one. If it was a 9, I would be way too tempted to use it. :)-----I plan on using some tax return money to pick one up--Just wanted to know where to get them now so I can show my wife and start begging for her to let me use "her" money (she works, I stay at home and play Wii with the kids and chat with you guys all day--cant complain:D)

I don't know of any "special" Beckers, except for a run of a BK10 and a run of a BK7. However, there are the discontinued BK2s from Blackjack (did they make them back then?) and definitely the Camillus brand. I am tellin ya right now the Cam BK2s are a lot easier to find.

My grandfather is having heath issues also, so take care, stay strong and most of all hope he recovers!

Thanks- I hope your grandpa recovers as well--The first time around was pretty hard-He was always such a strong man-came as a huge shock to me--I have been preparing myself since then so this isnt that big of a shock--He has T-Cell Lymphoma so there isnt much chance of recovery--the game plan right now is comfort and trying to just keep it at bay to buy some more time---

I wish good health and strength to his grandfather's friend...

Thanks, Saymon.

I remember seeing a photo of a BK2 of Worldwood's in the photo thread that had a signature on it. I assumed it was a limited run or something. Was that just a regular BK2 with Ethans actual signature?

No special BK2' s were ever made.

What you do to and for a BK2 is what makes it special.

I say get you one from Tomars, get you some of Pappy's handles put on it, then shadow box it.

Or use it.

Its all in what you do.

Check out what Psyop and the Colonel did to honor a loved one. True magic.

I was thinking the same thing...nothing cooler than a 20 year old used piece of steel. Basically, I don't really "pimp" my stuff until I find something I like better. I used to use my BK2, but I have found I like the 7 and 9 better. So, I bought some micarta and did a patina on it. Soon I will make a concealex sheath for it. In a few years when my daughter is old enough, maybe she will like it, or when I have a son, it could be given to him. Really the fact that makes it special is that your grandfather took the time to use years of skill a wood working experience to make something for you.

Thanks, Saymon.

Hey bud sorry to hear about your grandpa and i hope all turns out well and my thoughts are with you and your family. But to answer your question it was just a regular gen 1 bk2 that Ethan engraved his signature into and signed the box. i ordered a shadow box for it but the one i got was too small for everything i wanted in it. i meant to order another but just havent gotten around to it.

Sorry to hear of your grandfather. My father fought with cancer for a long time as well, he finally passed away last year, I can feel what you're going through. On a brighter note...I wish I had your "job"! Wouldn't you call that "home security"!? :D

sorry about your father and yes I call it Home Security and funtime cordinator

I can't help much with the 2 but I'll send prayers for your grandfather. Hope he defies the odds and recovers.

Best wishes for your grandfather.

If there isn't a special edition BK2 as others have said, a new old stock Camillus era BK might not be bad. Otherwise, maybe you could consider a BK77 for something special.

Well Guys, Someone upstairs decided to bless me. A very kind gentleman who has never posted here in Becker happened to see this thread. He contacted me and gave me a Becker from his collection. You guys are never going to believe it--so I have decided to wait til I have it in my posession-then I will post some pics back here--This is going to be so cool--The suspense will be worth it (I hope)

Wow, what a great gift from a great community!

Prayers for your grandpa, OFM4. Sounds like you have a great family. You're very fortunate!

Sorry to hear about your grandpa. Hope things go well for him this time around. Have you looked at the Ritter blade? It's like a longer version of the 2, and I think they're made in limited runs. One of the older hands can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm going to try to order one of those with tax refund, if I get one.
