in block form. The only bright red I can find is K-Carta from Koval knives and they only sell it in 3/8" slabs. All the westinghouse micarta was maroon not bright red. Is there Bright red Micarta or for that matter any brand in block form? TIA

Texas Knifemakers Supply carries a red linen micarta. I've used it several times. It finishes out real nice.

greg,
Sheffield's carries the red micarta (linen) in blocks 1-1/8" thick.

Hope it helps.

Do you hear that?
That is the sound of inevitability.

If you want your material to be bright red and to stay that way you will have to use red G-10. I have 1/8 sheets that can be glued together to form a block. The only way you can get it in block form as far as I know is to order a 2X2 sheet from the manufacturer in your desired thicknes. That is why I opted for the 1/8 and the glueing option. The cost was prohibitive. My first knife has red micarta scales. Over the several years I have used it they have turned maroon. Every red micarta knife I have seen has done this. If you want to get some seets to experiment with email me. I warn you I will be out of the office for a couple of weeks.

Cheers,

ts

BMWGS80 I thought of G-10 but couldn't get it thick enought I didn't think about gluing a bunch of it to gather. Do you see the glue joint? And where do you get red G-10

Greg, My personal hunting knife has red micarta scales. I've been carrying it for four years and it's still bright red.
