Hi all

Like the title says. Is there anywhere that still carried the original CS Lawman with steel liners?

Thanx for any direction

Only place is on the after market. Cold steel does not make the Lawman with liners anymore, strictly G10 only. I have had both versions, and sold the one with the liners, adds alot of weight, enough to tell a difference in your pocket. IMO, the G10 is as strong as the liner version also. The current G10 only version is a better piece IMO.

I handled a non liner version today. It was light. But I cant believe it is as strong as a version with steel liners. I wouldnt mind the extra wght and liners make a folder more robust and feel higher quality. I see they didnt lower the prices on them even though they have less parts .

I was just hoping maybe someone knew of a dealer who still stocked the original version.

That may be. I just know from limited experience with comparing the two, a knife without liners you can flex the handle slabs with finger pressure and I had a linerless Spyderco lock back and to my shock while using it and applying just a little torque whilest making a cut on some rope I looked down at the knife and the whole handle and pivot area were spread open !!!!

It all went back into place and the knife continued working ok but I vowed from that point on to stay away from linerless folders.

I like the pricepoint and triad lock on these and I understand they probably got feedback from Police that with all the stuff on their belts and all the wght they already have to deal with a lighter knife was requested. But I wish I could find a lined one for myself

There are 2 or 3 on Ebay, but they are spendy. The cheapest is over $100 with shipping. You might post a "want to buy" here on Bladeforums if a used one is ok.

Or, just get yourself a new flavor. They are very stout, and I honestly don't think you would miss the liner.

I love naysayers ;)

Speculating in a vacuum drives me crazy.

RedDevil, that just might be the best answer to a question I've ever seen here!

Very impressive video. BTW, I have a Mini Lawman with the black coating removed.

Thanx Crimson!! Any help is greatly appreciated.

A certain well respected member by the handle STR made some comments about this topic of CS knives that had an impact on my logic also.
