I know that there are lots of folks who make Kydex products, and that it would be cheaper in the long run to have someone make the stuff I am after, However I would really like to play with the stuff myself.

Dos anyone know where small quantities of Kydex can be had?

Thanks, MNH

I know that texas knifemakers supply, and jantz supply has kydex, but I'm unsure of prices and dimensions(no catalogs handy here). Checkout their sites...

TKS lists one thickness of Kydex that they sell and at 0.060" it is pretty thin. I like to use 3/32" (.093") which works for most blades. TKS also sells their material for about $5 a square foot, and I think they sell it is two square feet pieces.
I just ordered a 4'x8' sheet of .093" black Kydex100 and could sell you some if you can't find it anywhere. I'd like this to be the last resort, as I need this for my sheath "business", but I can part with some, probably, if that's your only avenue. I'd be willing to sell my stuff at the same price as TKS, plus shipping (so, $4.95 a sq. ft + whatever the shipping would be).

He sent me a quote that I never followed uo on for 72.00 for a 4X8X.060 and they will cut it into pieces that can be FedEx'd.

The $70-$75 seems like the going rate on the 0.060 thickness. The 0.093" will run about the mid-90's, and shipping is pretty hefty, I would assume, because a sheet of that stuff weighs quite a bit. Best bet is to try and find it locally. With the taxes you end up breaking even as you would buying off the internet, probably.
