Over 20 years ago I bought some pure nickel from someone (I don't remember who it was). The nickel was about 1/16" thick, 2" wide and maybe four feet long.
I decided to see if I could weld it in a blade. I used 1/4" 1095 for the core, then put the nickel on both sides of the 1095 and then put 1/8" 1095 on the outside. I welded up the seams to make a dry weld. it welded up easily and the picture shows the result.
I would like to get more nickel but so far the best I can find is like 4"x8" x2mm for $20.00.
Any ideas where I can get more nickel at a reasonable price?

I have sometimes found a good price for foil on Amazon. Sometimes they have more or less scraps of specialty metals at fair prices.

From memory, try searching for Nickel 200 - that's the alloy number

Online metals comes up but prices are stupid high.

Stock drops from your local suppliers are probably the cheapest, but you won't get that online.
