Where can I find the ultra heavy dute ziploc type bags?

I am talking about the type of bag that is seen on Hoods Woods site in the mini-survival kit video page. They are a lot thicker than normal ziplocs and have a red strip going across the top of the bag next to the zipper. I think that they are normally a slightly cloudy white plastic color.

I am not exatly familar with the purticular bag you want but I have a friend that kayaks and he seems to have some pretty mean ziplocks for waterproofing. I am almost positive he got them from an outdoors store that he bought his kayak from. So your best bet is to go where they sell kayaks
 
We used to call them MAF bags in the military. x39 hit the nail on the head. McMaster has them, but the way their site is built makes it a little difficult to give you a direct link. Look under "Material Handling", then "Packaging Supplies". In there they're listed as "Zip-press polyethylene bags".

Thanks, guys, and X39 in particular. I never would have thought to look for them at McMaster, but they were fast and a great price. That website could use some work, though, I agree

I got some of the 6 and 8 mil bags, and the zip lock is way better than the grocery-store version. They are relatively waterproof and water retaining, too, and have just dozens of uses.
 
JohnG- glad to have been of help. Short of food, there isn't much McMaster doesn't carry. When I need something,
I look there first.

I just picked up two of them at Meijers for $1.99 each...

Now they aren't Exactly what you are looking for, although they are... In my opinion,,these might be better...

They are a double pouch design,kind of like those pocket things you get when you get insurance,,but these have HD ziplock type closures..

They are made by Coghlans and is called the "All Weather Wallet"

I like the double pouch setup,as you can organize your $hit and have it all in one pouch...
