I have a custom Takeshi Saji that I need a waterstone to sharpen. The shirogami core seems to chip on my ceramics and arkansas stones. Does anyone have any suggestions for a website to pick up some nice stones??? Looking for anywhere between 1k-8k grit. Thanks.

Thanks a lot guys. In your experience which is better as far as wear vs. cutting/polishing ability?? I know japanese waterstones are the best, but the price points on those nortons are great too. I have heard that the nortons last a while too, but the Bester waterstones are praised for lasting forever with great cutting ability. Which would be better??? I already have a full 6 stones arkansas bench set up, but I would like to have the ability/option to go with either oilstones/waterstones on any blade. Let me know what you guys think.

The Nortons are a newer technology (and what I favor), but all waterstones quickly wear and need flattening. Whatever your choice, get yourself a windowpane glass and some 220 grit wet/dry paper.
