King Tut, try ebay.com. I have had some friends find some traditional Karambits there. You will probably have a hard time getting them through MandeMuda. Pendekar Suwanda was taken away from the Martial Art community do to a fatal car accident while on tour in Europe. He will truly be missed.

Try Larry at WWW.BladeArt.com, I believe he has some.

something else you might like to look at is the Filipino Box Cutter as made by www.Szaboinc.com
it's nice looking, a bit expensive, and you'd have to get a forum member to make you a nice kydex sheath- i believe it's made with a leather sheath that's pretty noticeable.

Thanks guys,
I feel in love with the Garuda Krambit and Tanduk Krambit at www.mamdemuda.com but there's no prices(I'll just call)

I'm almost positive I'm gonna get the $90 Lawi -Ayam from Berserkitec unless something better shows up within the month.

Sorry Kelt34 but I plain didn't like the Szabonic kerambit. The way the blade's configured dosen't make it practical for traditional techniques like holding the blade out extended and using for groin pulls and rib stabs.

Which leads to my next question is Krambit, Korambit, Kerambit, Karambit or the corrrect spelling.

Anymore?

Kel & guys,

All of Laci's knives come with kydex. I think www.BladeArt.com happens to have one of Laci's Fillipino Box Cutters (PBC) on hand. At least yesterday he did!

He also carries most of Laci's line of blades and he's a LOT easier to get ahold of on the phone. Laci travels quite a bit, training and such.

Hey Mike... are you saying the Kerambit design by Liong Mah is now available for purchase? I was looking to pick one up.

As for other kerambits available... read and seen about the new Ernest Emerson kerambit. Lovely looking knife albeit quite pricey.

Look for another thread about kerambits in bladeforums... it had a link to a custom kerambit makers site. :D

You can call Strider Knives. They will have the Strider / Tarani Karambit. This is a traditional style Karambit.

What's the idea behind the use of a kerambit? Why would anyone choose to carry it over a knife?

Goosebemps, go to that excellent bookstore at Lamar at 6th street, and check the kerambit article in the current issue of Blade magazine. The Strider kerambit is just starting to become available; my local Strider dealer just received his first one.

Goosebemps,

There is a brand new book out on the Karambit. Published by Unique Pulications. It's a great book plus it's the only book written on the Karambit.

Valiant Co is finally back up, and they've got quite a few different Kerambits. Their MiniKerambits are close to what a lot of people here are calling a kerambit, whereas their full size kerambits are closer to the Traditional design.

Here's the web addy for those of you who don't know it.
