I got a used Endura 4 FFG with handle scales in good shape but the person was trying to change the blade to lock engagement with a Dremel and was... Less than successful. I would like to just get a new blade, sabre or FFG not really picky. Does anybody know where I can get a new blade?

Before anybody suggests sending it in for warranty, which not being the original owner I don't even know if it would be applied, but I know the guy messed it up trying to avoid sending it off himself. It wouldn't be right to even ask Spyderco to fix that. I only paid $12 for basically a functional knife. The handle and hardware are in near mint shape. The blade works but the grinding marks and scuffs from crappy skill on a stone make it a bit ugly. It's not really that bad I'm just picky. Thanks for any info guys!

they say on their website they don't replace blades ...so other than buying another as a donor knife and a bit of fitting yourself for proper lock up and funcrion.....i got no other ideas. curious if anyone else has a good idea?

Josh at REK can probably fix you up if it's the blade grind that has issues. If it's the lock up....that takes experienced hands. Someone may be able to get it fixed up, or you may be better off spending $60 on a new Endura.

I didn't mean the grind of the cutting edge but the bottom side of the blade at the bottom has been grinded. He was trying to make it smoother or something and was careless with it. It locks up ok, it's just gritty and ugly. It's not like I need a new blade but I think it would be worthwhile to replace it.

I kind of doubt you're going to find a new blade for less than the cost of a new knife, but you might try posting an ad in the Want To Buy section of the exchange. It's possible some modder out there could have one he doesn't need anymore. Not too likely, but possible.

Sell it as is with full disclosure.

Use the cash to buy a nicer than you have now Endura

You can often find used Enduras at Flea Markets and Yard Sales for a song.

May not be worthit to replace. With lockbacks, you'd want the matching locking lever with the blade to ensure a good lockup so you'll need that too.

I don't mind fixing a lock bar a little, but I'd prefer not to have the blade messed with unless it's done professionally. I may be able to save the one I have...

where do you live? sounds like a knife users dream when it comes to yard sales. round here you won't find anything good. not even an old buck 110 or case. never seen a spyderco...wish i did though i'd be grabbing them all day long.
