I'm new to this game and have been putting together folding knife kits here in the UK for several months now.
I like folders as they make compact, useful gifts to friends. Now I have mastered the basics I would like to design my own
bolsters/liners etc. but don't want to go to the hassle of buying kilns, ovens and heat treating blades. So the big question is... Does anyone in the world
sell just the blades for folders without the kits?? If they do I have spent the last two weeks combing the internet trying to find such a rare and exclusive creature.
That includes China and Pakistan by the way.
Am I missing something here? Why is it that I can buy knife blanks of every hue, shade, colour ,(sorry, color )size and metal EXCEPT for a folding knife.
I have just sent a note to one of the US favourite knife suppliers asking the same question. If they supply every conceivable part for a folding knife under the sun, how can you make the knife if you can't buy a knife blade.
You will note that I have not mentioned the UK market. (Chuckle, chuckle ) I don't even want to go there. Not a chance. Only you guys across the pond will understand what I'm going through.
