Hi all!

I am planning to make myself a pair of fighting sticks with G-10 (is there any other synthetic tougher for this job?). I found some websites on Internet selling G-10 rods, but don't know whether there's any difference on toughness between different sellers. (I often see "NEMA G10,G9,G7,G11" what are these stuffs?) Can anyone tell me where to find the toughest G-10 rods? Thanks!

Delrin is a very tough plastic and is commercially available in rods. I think they are using it for tomahawk handles.
Give it a try

I'm pretty sure the number with each G is supposed to tell what the glass content is. Don't remember which way the scale works though.

G-11 seems to be way out of my budget...:( I will settle with G-10.
Is there any difference on the quality of G-10 from different carriers?

I am pretty sure its all the same from everyone just like steel however I may be wrong

G5 (grade 5) is linen Micarta and G7 I think is Canvas Micarta. Just different grades of phenolic materials. G10 is suppose to be "tougher" because it is an epoxy and fiberglass laminate as oppsed to Micarta being a phenolic and cotton laminate.

If you just go to Mc Master Carr they have all the spec's and pricing. One stop shopping. No guessing.
