Does anyone know where I can pick up some cases of FRESH, quality, complete MRE's? Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do they really need to be MRE's?

The backpacking dehydrated foods are much better IMHO. Add a little water and you have something that I would generally rate as good as your average commercial chain diner on the Interstates. I also tend to think they are healthier for you but, they don't have the huge caloric load traditional MRE's do.

Yeah, I'd prefer MRE's. The backpacking dehydrated foods have there place and I eat and enjoy them. But for what I'm looking for, MRE's pretty much fit the bill. No water, heat, etc. required.

LOL
You said quality MRE's ..........thats an oxy-moron
Quality is not what I think of when I think of Meals Ready To Eat.
I would try your local Army surplus store if you have one in your area.

tonyccw,

Thank you sir. That's just the info I was looking for. Real world feedback.

MRE's; they're not the best but they fill that empty, painful hole in your stomach rather efficiently. :D

I've tried K-rations, C-rations and MRE's. I'd have to say that I'd rather eat the MRE's...if I couldn't swing a porterhouse. :D

There's some classics that can only be found in a C-Rat. Ham and Lima Beans, flavored with saltpeter... Hmmmmm... :D

Today's MRE's are fine , I have yet to try one I didnt find palatable , add that to the fact that when you actually do eat one your going to be darn hungry (hiking , camping etc).
There are some good threads in http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=692 here that speak much on this subject.

note: I bought a case off of eBay in 02, had the Beef Stew saturday morning (quality check :D ) and it was excellent , as good as Dinty Moore.
