where can I get Gun Cote done?

To the best of my knowledge this is a Chris Reeve patent or am I right out of the ball park?
I have tried to e-mail Chris to enquire about having this done to blades but I get no reply. Is there anybody else that does this or something similar or can someone at least give me some sort of info please?
I know of hard chrome but that is too shiny.
Also, does anyone know of a black coating that is as durable as hard chrome or gun cote?

It seems there is no easy thing in this game. Everything involves MORE learning but I guess that is what sorts the men from the boys.
My biggest reason for wanting to coat blades is for rust prevention in high carbon, non stainless steels. It of course has to be durable as well! So it is possible for one to do it yourself. Good to know.
