No worries, I had to take my wife to a hospital (200 mi. from home) a few years ago for an "overnight" procedure that ended up keeping us there over a week. She sent me to the store to buy her some underware.

I just talked in a real deep voice and kept sayin' "How 'bout them Raiders?".:D

Funny....wife was sick in hosp once and I got sent on that mission. First sales lady that came by and wanted to help, I just asked her if she thought these would fit me, and she went away and let me shop in peace.:D

I'm hoping that someone can tell me where to look for the velvet (or fabric) covered foam like the stuff used in these display cases.

I'd like to use some nice wooden boxes that I have as knife display cases, but I have no idea what the stuff is called or where to look for it.

Try the art supplies store, it'll might cost you an arm and a leg, you might have trouble finding it under all the fake flowers, and if you have asthma or any other similar condition you might not want to breathe too much but they should have it.

Too funny.

I have bought "pads" for my wife for certain times of the month. I was with my mother in law once when I was getting them for her and she offered to buy them so I didn't have to but I declined, I didn't figure anyone would think they were for me! The underwear might be another issue for some guys these days....

Sorry Dave, we're not very helpful for what you're really looking for!

Dave, I don't think you are going to be able to purchase what you want ready made. I think you can find a thin layer (roll) of flexible styrofoam (not the hard, brittle stuff and not foam) at most hobby type stores; then find some velvet at most any fabric store. The velvet can be attached (glued) to the styrofoam using an aerosol can of "glue" commonly used for matting pictures (again available at most hobby stores). Spray the glue evenly over the surface of the styrofoam as well as to the back side of the material and let it set for about 30 seconds; then lay the material over the top of the styrofoam and I think that should work for you.

I agree w, Tin Sue . Be sure to cut the knife frames tight in the styrofoam so it holds the knives secure during transit and shows . Good luck . DM

ah dave dark or royal blue looks great..!
it should be a stretchy fabric..
it is not easy to do the stiff foam thing..
do not try it with styrofoam that dont work well at all

i am building a wall display for leroy now using royal blue velveteen...
you have to decide if you want the knives recessed or not
if you want to put it on the wall most likely they will need to be
and supper mags embedded will also help !!!!
at wally they have a poster foam board in office supplys
you can cut the profile out ...well jest look

if it will lay down it is easy as you use a real soft rubber foam
and lay the fabric over it you can use layers of thin and cut out
for were handles will be ..again still i like magnets under to hold the blade
i have one like this i am finishing for Joe..
the glue you have to be careful as some will go through the fabric
and show real bad..go the extra buck and get headliner glue
at the auto supply store..
if u want detail directions..call to talk it out..

hay i tryed that will it fit me line once ..
she said they were open for men
to try on things after normal hrs on tursdays...
i jest turned red and shut up!
the wife liked to bust a gut!!!:o:foot:
