I want to order my dad a buck 110 with a quote his grandfather (passed away a few years ago was a USMC vet and got shot during korea during the battle at the Chosin Reservoir) used to always say. I feel like it would be something that would be very sentimental to him, i want to get half engraved on each side. Id rather not order it straight from buck if i dont have too to avoid paying MSRP so does anyone know where else i can get it?

Trophy shops.

Ah alright, i know where somewhere like that is, I also went on yellow pages and searched engraving in my area and some knife shop called justknives101 says that they do engraving too, ill have to call on monday and see what they can do.

Look up a store called "Things Remembered". Or here's the link http://www.thingsremembered.com/

They're in just about every Shopping Mall I've ever been in.

I just took 4 of my custom knives there and had them engraved. The manager engraved them on the spot.
I walked in and out in 20 minutes with all four blades engraved.

If it's done using a machine it's not engraving.

Personally I think using a pantograph looks cheap and tacky; even burning the pattern in with a laser looks better.

Like this stuff. This is a local hand engraver near me. Here's some of his work

Another possibility is to take it to a jeweler (call first, to ask). I'm pretty sure at least some would do engraving work as well, and probably have some good contacts for such work, if they have to outsource it. In my area, there's one jeweler who even features engraved knives in their TV commercial.
