Good luck, if you find one at a dealer, you must have found a dealer that doesn't sell alot of BKT's.

Those 1st gens are out in the world now, being whooped on, and tearing up stuff.

Secondary market will be your bet, FleaBay, BunsAmerica, BFC exchange, stuff like that.

Like I said, good luck.

Like Moose said, out-of-the-way places with slow inventory turnover.
I found a Camillus BK-5 once in a little knife store in North Carolina.
This was after the BK-5 was discontinued by Camillus and Camillus went under. At that time, you couldn't find a BK-5.
Someone reported seeing it to me here on BFC. I called the store next day, and I bought it.

what they said :)

call dealers. make sure they have it in hand, in stock. avoid a store that rhymes with hostack :) the store named after a river moves inventory too much, no joy for you there.

or...

buy one used from someone...

if you type bk-2 on amazon every pictue is of the first generation. but i knew it was to good to be true.(0 for 12) shafted once again.

thats what i figured...sigh

I've seen blanks on that popular auction site. ;)

Which makes me wonder where the hell are they getting them? Kabar doesn't do blanks, I know that for a fact. It came up at SHOT. Camillus did blanks, but those are long gone, me thinks.

Blackjack maybe, there was some shady shit goin' on there.

Who knows.

the only blanks i've seen are Camillus... some ground, some not. auction left overs. perhaps a few employee "bonuses" :>

haven't seen pre-Camillus blanks. there are lots and lots of old Blackjack stuff surfacing, much of it looks like crap thrown in a box because it was damaged, or imperfect, or ... something, and it shows :) "one ofs" and "prototypes" - right ;) there is also a lot of legitimate stuff that people bought at auction apparently, and are just now getting around to dumping for various reasons. i saw a LOT of old Blackjack knives proper, esp the ones made in Japan surface some time ago, and trickle since then.

don't recall seeing more than one KaBar blank, but i think it came with the caveat that the owner was keeping the handles, and sheath for something else...
