Where Can I Read About Comparitive Edge Geometries & Their Pros & Cons? Thanks! n/t

Right here.

Convex edge good fer choppin'.
Flat grind good fer slicin'.

That's all I know anyways. But I'm pretty sure that's less detail than what you were hoping for.

That almost akin to asking:

"Where can I read about the pros and cons of production vs. custom knives?"

or better yet...

"Where can I read about the pros and cons of forging vs. stock removal?"

There are so many variables, it doesn't make sense to try to put them all in a table and generalize their application. You'll need to read practically the entire forum to get the answer you want and even then it's all relative to your specific wants and needs. ;)

Sorry for the "no-help" answer...:(

Best offer I can make is to do a search on flat grind, convex, chisel, multi-grind (or combo-grind), hollow grind, multi-bevel, etc.

Whatever you do, resist the temptation to order coldsteel's proof dvd...

Good answer even if it's a no-answer Pen. Bruise too, kinda sums it up. Experience with HI khuks over the last couple of years has shown some changes in edge geometries. For a while the edges got fairly thin. While this is good for slicing tomatoes it is not really the best edge for something thats going to be pounded into trees and just used hard. Glad that the kamis have beefed up the edge thickness a bit.

This is just what I was looking for, guys... Thanks for everyone's input. Dan :)

They hide that link up on the very top of the page and it is super easy to miss. If more people knew that it was there it would help with some of the basic questions that many have. I know I learned a great deal form those pages when I first started reading here on Bladeforums.
