Where can I see most of the discontinued Buck models?

Hi everyone!

Well, here is the thing, right now I'm in Mexico and today I ran into this little shop that sells mainly ammo but also carries a nice selection of knives, mainly old and used Bucks and Gerbers.

So I went in and saw this Buck folder I didn't recognize (I'm familiar with the current Buck Knives catalog) which really caught my eye, however the store's owner said he didn't have the box and didn't knew the model and he wouldn't allow me to use my cellphone camera in the store (since they are the only place in town that sells ammo they're very strict about security).

The only info I have is the following: It was a folder with synthetic black handles, a 3 inch (maybe 3.59) blade with a plain edge, the stamping said BUCK USA and If I remeber correctly It had the Paul Boss treatment logo.

The interesting part was the blade, it had a blade opening hole like the one on the Buck Vantage ( I don't think there are too many models with a blade like that) The shape of the handles resembled a lot the lines of the BucK Rush, and it also had a one position clip.

The knife is being sold for about 45 dlls which is a nice pricee for an original Buck in Mexico (Take in account that Brand Name knives in Mexico are really hard to find in stores and they usually retail for almost twice their original price in the U.S.)

So, if anyone has any idea about the model, I would really appreciate your help, I need to find out the model so I can see what kind of steel it is made from and its general characteristics.

Thanks.

The place to find any type of Buck is on your local internet selling site known here as "The Bay".

I actually found a picture of it on "The bay", however there is no model number or name, can I post the link here so someone can identify it???

Send it to me in a PM or e-mail and I'll take a look.

Plumberdv, thank you very much, I just took the liberty of sending you an e-mail.

No problem. The knife is a model 186 Odyssey. The one in the link you sent me appears to be the carbon fiber model. There was also one made with G-10 scales. They came both with plain and partially serrated blades. The model number 186 was also used at one time for a Buck titanium knife similar to the 110, so if you do a search of the forum, you will come up with threads on both.

Plumberdv, thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

Yeah, that's exactly the knife. Thank you guys for the links. I see the price down here is not that high up, I'll see if I can manage to get my hands on it.
