Where can one buy Busse Knives?

Hey all.

I'm pretty ignorant about Busse knives in general. Do they just release a limited supply of their knives and then move on to the next model? Their "Fusion Steel Heart", "Tank Buster", and "American Kensei/AK47" are some of my favorite models, but it seems like the only place you can find them is on the forums, which often sell out quickly. It seems like there is only a handful of every model running around.

I also see some people have customized Busse blades so I'm guessing this is a service offered from Busse as well, but this is assuming they have more of the blade left in stock correct?

Thanks for your help!

I think your best bet for getting a busse is to look in the scrapyard/swamp rat/busse for sale forum in the exchange. Or look on ebay but the prices are usually higher there. I had no idea how to get swamp rat knives when I first got into busse kin. Just check the exchange regularly and maybe you will find the one you want

And If you are looking for an AK there are many on the exchange and on ebay for an excellent price. Tank busters show up a decent amount as well.

In order of preference, in my opinion:

(1) Direct from Busse Combat, assuming you're interested in something currently available. It's generally the cheapest you'll ever get one, and pretty fast (6wks to immediately, or there about).

(2) From Skunk's Busse Company Store. It's like direct, only different. He gets unique blades (the SAR series, the Game Wardens, etc).

(3) The Exchange here. And right now is a great time. Lots available, and generally good prices. As good as it's ever been.

It's never really been easier to get a Busse blade. Lots of them are moving around between the different venues.

(4) Once in forever a deal is found on FleeBay. YMMV.

Good luck.

Edited to add: bear in mind, the gap/difference between each source is real small (except maybe FleeBay).

Don't forget local gunshows or special knife events like Blade, AG Russell, and Easton.

Ganzas are another way, and we are due for one ;) :D

Right, of course, Ganzas and the Shows, how could I forget... That's another half-dozen times a year (or more) that special editions are released, old school re-issues show up, all sorts of fancy-handled variations of popular and/or current models are available, and *these opportunities*, actually, are the cheapest certain knives are ever found.

Show specials as they're sometimes called, and other ordering opportunities for knives not yet ready (sometimes there's a demo set on the table/etc when you order).

Yeah, tons of opportunities to buy.

I still creep into pawn shops or guns shops now and again just to check on the off chance they might have a beaut!

I have been around to watch ganza's but have never really ordered from one. I did try for the SantaGanza madness of course!

To the OP,

Best place is on the Busse/kin exchange right here on the forum, if you don't want something that is currently offered Direct from Busse (as already said, usually the best price).

Direct is not always the best price on every model. If you watch the original prices, and lurk on the exchange, you can often snag one actually below cost with a sheath thrown in to boot.

Ebay, of course, you really got to know your ponies, and be smart. Occasionally, one can get a killer deal on there, but not all the time.

One or two have gone for so low, on rare models that anger and enmity sprang out on here when the seller figured out what the knife was really worth. Felt kind of bad for the dude, and some nice hogs gave him a heads up to mosey on over here and check out prices before selling the rest.

If you spend way too much time on the exchange you really will be able to spot great deals.

I try to avoid it my self, because for some reason "honey, this was a killer deal.........really almost $100 bucks off what it is worth........." does not impress my wife.

Busse does have an unusual sales model. They will typically have one or two knives available for order on the Company site, right now it's the Anorexic BOSS Street. They will take orders for a period of time, weeks or months, then close the books on that knife. After a short break, a new model will go up for order. Old models cannot be ordered, although they may show up in a 'Ganza or at a show. So, as has been mentioned above, the Exchange is the place to find past models for resale. A patient buyer may well find a bargain. Price ans selection are really very good right now.

You can send your knife in for customizing, or you can order a true custom built knife. Expect a very long wait and a large bill for that second priviledge. What are known as Custom shop knives will also be offered at shows. The mother of all Busse shows is at The Blade show, held early June in Atlanta.

I get this question alot so here is what I will tell you (oh and by the way I work for Busse Combat)

How Busse Combat www.bussecombat.com works is we launch 1-3 models on our website and make each knife per EACH order we then retire that model and launch a new one.

If you are looking for a "retired model" your best bet is to call me or one of the lovely ladies of Busse Combat 419-923-6471 M-F 9am to 5pm and we can do our best to help you out or direct you to the custom shop.

You never know..the "Custom Shop" might have a blank available to make your knife or if you would like you can always send a e-mail to us at amy@bussecombat.com or garth@bussecombat.com

We always try our best to help everyone out:)
