Where could i get a REAL hand made jappanesse sword?

Go to http://www.aoi-art.com. But be prepared for sticker shock. They have anything from Juyo Token (Very important pieces) to WWII Gendaito (new-made traditional) to swords made by still living smiths.

Aoi-Art is well known in the Nihonto circles and have good deals from time to time.

You know, I reallly wanted to get a nicely made long sword for cutting and just have around. I have met a few guys in the past that dabbled in makeing swords out steels as close to tamahagane as possible and haveing the characteristics of a real live blade. But unfortunately the only ones I could afford were the 10 series steel blades (1085-1095) hammered to approximate shape with no grain, no complex structure and the hamon was all goofy looking (dark hamon and light blade, should be the other way around).

So I started looking at gun shows and I joined the JSS/US. Tons of collectors out there that will sell blades for what they have in them and they are usually real, old and most of the time in great polish. Still not cheap cheap but much better than spending 10k on a blade made by a great knife maker but ok sword maker.
