I hate to sound like a overrun record and my apologies if this annoys you, but I was wondering how many Alaskans (still livin' here) are here in the forums... and which city you're in

Los Anchorage Here

I am here digging around in the snow. -2 this morning here in Fairbanks. This global warming thing sure is nice.We haven't had a real winter in 10 or fifteen years. We tell people in Anchorage if they get some time come on up to Alaska for a vist.Do you have any snow down there yet?

some snow, had an ice fog last night. I am planning/hoping to visit alaska soon. Fairbanks to be more specific. Anchorage is okay, but just not Alaskan enough :D

In Alaska you silly boy. Where else would they be? ;) :D

I escaped!!

However, driving over Lolo Pass last night I was thinking I
haven't moved quite far enough south.

Hell man, it aint hardly been below freezing all winter so far. Well...or at least not until this past weekend when I decided to go do some trap shooting, then the temp went down to about ten below

It's awight though...keeps down alot of the riff raff an' what all. After all dat gang bangin' chit jus' ain' nearly as fun when yo' glock froze to yo...ahem...well...this is community.... :D

A little cold weather shouldn't be a problem for your glock. I went to the range many times below zero. -30 was my lowest ever. I just shot a few mags to see if my carry gun/ammo (Glock 27 federal ammo) was good to go in cold weather.

Moving to Ft. Richardson next summer...any advice for someone who has lives CONUS all his life? Thanks.

My advice is to get ready to see as much of Alaska as you can. If you are into the outdoors there is a life time of adventures. For the last ten years or more the weather has been mild. I believe it is in the 40s today in Anchorage. What do you like to do? Anchorage has everything you would expect in a small city. Maybe the Alaska Formites can get together later in the summer down on the Keni and do some salmon fishing.

I'm ALWAYS down for some fishin' on the Kenai. Heck, lets do a mid July halibut charter. I know a guy, if we get 4 people, it's $125 each and he provides cigars and boos..

As for experiencing AK as much as possible, he won't be able to do that for a while if I'm correct. Ft. Richardson means you are Army, if I'm not mistaken. Active Duty and probably new (forgive me if you're not...And nothin' wrong with new) and on 2yrs up here. :D
