Where did everybody go?

I've dropped off the face of the earth...otherwise known as, working too hard. This past weekend was my first in the past three weeks that I had a day (much less two) off. I should be here for a week or two more before I'm off for about a week (out of town on business, then followed up by a visit to "club med"...otherwise known as "the hospital"...for migraine headache treatment).

Now, back to knife talk! :)

willie here!
ya, it's been a while, I'm thinking about
picking up either a Bowie(S1 of course) or Trident
for my birthday which is coming up this month.
kind ran into the same dillema many ppl have before..(which one?)
but i'm pretty sure i'll have my mind make up by then.
can't wait to get it (i've been reading pg. 25&26 of the catalog Ron send me and drooling at them for 2 months) time to stop my
bad habbit:p

Blade Show...don't know and probably not. Decisions have been made about who's going, and I'm not on that list, but that happened about the SHOT Show (I was a last minute addition). I'll wait and see.

Get it beat! We need you around here Obi Ron, you're our only hope!!!

I'm currently having about 20 migraines a month. I live on Imitrex (100mg tablets and a handful of other medications) to keep them under control.

My neurologist is going put me in the hospital for over 72 hours (over Memorial Day weekend) and feed me, via IV, a continuous flow of DHE 45 (a migraine treatment medication). For chronic migraine sufferers, this treatment has been quite effective. Cross your fingers...others like me have been migraine free for months.

Good luck with it Ron. 20 Migraines per month! I'm sure "challenging" does not to begin to describe it.
Thx for the link to DHE 45. My Wife was off work today with a migraine, so I will pass the info on to her for discussion with her Dr.
Take care,
Gord

Probably working too hard too!!!:(

Maybe you can bring a laptop and set a BF endurance record:eek:

The DHE45 comes to consumers ONLY in raw injections! :( Yuck! :( (Or the IV set up I'm going through.)

I'd strongly recommend having your wife talk with her doctor about the Tripan family of drugs (Imitrex, Amerge, Zolmig, etc.). These are outstanding migraine relief drugs. They are not drugs that "dope" you up, rather, they just take away the migraine...very effectively. Very expensive, though. About $20 per dose. Better make sure your insurance is intact! :) Best of luck to her.

Ron, Your health comes first!!! You take care of yourself and your family and then you can come back here for more harassment!!!:D

P.S. Stay away from alcohol! It aggravates headaches but I'm sure you already knew that!;)

About migraines, I've been there too.
Consider a drug called Inderal (propranololhydrochloride). It is used as a migraine preventive drug. I take 3x40 mg per day, and my migraine attacks decreased to two-four per month.

Ah, yes...the heart medication. It has been effective for some people. (BTW, Thomas. Ever thought that if you took the leather mask off for an hour or two a day your migraines might be reduced a bit? ;) )

Preventative medications for me: Just about everything. Some have screwed me up. I've been on half dozen different antidepressants (not for depression, but as a migraine deterrent; screwed my emotions up really bad), anti-epileptic (seizure) drugs, anti-inflammation drugs (ate a hole in my stomach, thus my bleeding ulcer that just about killed me), vitamin B12 (I think).

Right now, I’m on Neurontin (anti-seizure) and Celebrex (anti-inflammation) as preventative drugs and Imitrex and Amerge for migraine relief. I’m on a slew of other drugs for chronic neck and back pain as well as preventing my ulcer from reoccurring because the drugs I’m on. Folks...simply put, I’m screwed! ;)

Actually it's a ski mask. I will decloak in the near future...:D
