Most newsstand magazines are dated earlier than the actual month because of the tendency of newsstand distributor employees to pull any magazine with the current month cover date. Subscribers get their copies well ahead of the newsstand. So if you are a subscriber to a bi-monthly magazine the September cover date covers July-August on sale, (twice as much newsstand exposure as a month to advertisers for instance). But that magazine will be pulled on Sept. 1 by the newsstand folks.
All this means if you got your magazine yesterday, you were right on time.
Thanks for the request on what you'd like to see in KI. In this editor's opinion squeaky wheels do get grease, although you may want to send to me direct rather than through the forums. All suggestions will be appreciated, read, and listened to. I've long since given up on thinking I was the only person who could come up with a good idea.
