. I think that it was(is?) made by "edgeco". The blade is damascus steel, and has the words "edge" and "swallowtail" on it. I have no idea of it's construction, history, price, or rarity. I would greatly appreciate help identifying this Balisong.
I'm having trouble with the picture so tak a look for yourself at "http://members.xoom.com/ken_m.1/LewCollection.htm" it's the one all the way at the bottom.

Here is the pic and thanks Lew these pics brought back some killer memories!
Lew_Edgco_DamBlkSkel.jpg

The knives were made for Rick Hamilton, owner of Edgeco by Bear MGC. I think it was the late 80's or early 90's when it was out. I don't now how many were made but a quick phone call to Bear may yeild that answer for you. I don't think they are a very sought after collectible at all though. If memory serves they may be worth about $50 or so.

I offered it to Sabo for just a few dollars but for some reason he couldn't come up with the money... so I still have it. I thought 200 knives was a good deal...

Thanks for the info Mike...

Just a few dollars? What is a few, two or three? Lets see, 200 knives at $3 each would be about $600. Where do I send the check?

Or did you have a figure more like $6000 in mind? That maybe a bit more than what some of us here can afford. Thanks, JohnR7

I THINK I rember(please forgive me if I'm wrong)the figure was a more than reasonable $14,000; a $70 average per knife!!! IMHO, if a guy had that to invest, and a penchant for balisongs, it's the buy of a lifetime!

Dawkind,

I saw a pic of some of your collection on Benchmade's Forum, the one where the 5 inch Kriss is the only knife vertical and the rest are horizontal.

Then I sat and dreamed the other day of hitting that Big Game Lottery and how I would send you a Pelican Case via FedEx with one thing in it, if you would return the knives in the picture minus the two Tanto BaliSongs.

That one thing would have been a Certified Check for $10,000.00

If I had that sort of disposable income, I would offer you 10G for your set in that pic, minus the 2 Tanto.

So, let me know, 'cause I got the ticket [you have to play to lose, don't ya know].

Ahhh, it's nice to dream, isn't it?
