Hello everybody,

I a interested in Schatt & Morgan knives. I read all what I found about the history of this cutlery which was the higher branch from Queen cutlery.

The exemplars I see from time to time on the selling sites bear the markings of S&M together with the Queen markings, and they are usually a little expensive for me. I also find new knives - less expensives- who bear the S&M brand together with the "file and wire "markings but no Queen brand.

My question is : are the present S&M knives we can find :
- new old stock left over from the Queen factory ?
- currently made knives from old Queen pieces (blades, handles, springs, bolsters, rivets etc.) ?
- currently totally new knives made by a cutlery which has buyed the S&M trade mark ?

Very thank you for your explanations on the subject.

Have a nice day, greetings from France,

Henry

Hi Henry. Yes all S&M knives from the last 70 years were all made at the Queen factory, up until 2018, whether the tang says Queen or not. Since the Queen factory closed, there is no current knives being produced with the Schatt & Morgan name.

There is a chance there may be a few knives assembled from pieces from the bankruptcy auction in 2019, although I have not seen any.

The new owner of S&M is currently setting up a new factory and the 1st new official S&M knives should be for sale some time in 2021.
