Where do you buy your BDU's (when they aren't issued)

I am looking for some classic "Chocolate Chip" pattern Desert BDU's and after searching randomly on the web, thought I might see where folks around here find good quality BDU's for a reasonable price (no specialized ultra-expensive clothes needed ;) ). While I want a good price, I prefer better service and best quality gear.

THANKS!

Sid, these guys rule!

Excellent prices on Propper BDUs, great service and shipping too. I've bought numerous pairs from them, and been very happy. $21.95 for Proppers is hard to beat.

kinzli,

Thanks for the link. You seem to have had some good dealings with TactGear. Do you just pick the default fabric that your link goes to, 40% Poly, 60% Cotton? My use will generally be in the heat of South Florida. If in the Everglades I will generally be hot, but sometimes may be wet, and one can get cold anywhere, although all things are relative. Since you seem to have some personal experience, will this material dry fast, and avoid wicking wet pants bottoms, until one is wet all the way up?

They seem to have all sizes, which is great, as I am overweight, but need some tough cargo pants (BDU's) to get outdoors in and exercise. Even when I am thin my upper legs are thick. BDU's look roomy in that area, for squatting???

Thanks for any advice from Kinzli or others.

Donald, I have a bunch of pairs of the 60/40 material, it's the heavy-duty stuff that's like tent-cloth, so it's not terribly cool (but I'd say cooler than a pair of Levi's). I got those because I'm out in CA and wear them when I'm out in the bush, and it never gets that hot out here. They don't dry any quicker than any other kind of heavy cloth pant, but I think the ripstop stuff might be better for that, but I don't have any of those to comment on.

BDUs do have a good amount of thigh room, so you'll be good to go. They also have ankle ties and "cinchers" at the waist, so you can make them fit better as well.

I can't say enough good things about the link I posted, both the dealer as well as the product.

I dont know what you are talking about, I live near SF in CA, over in Walnut Creek...we had a strech of 110-116 for 5 days, with the rest of the summer in the high 90s...course, no humidity, so it isnt as bad as 80 degrees, and 90% humitiy back in the midwest....

Jr, and your point is??? Just because it got to 116 where you are doesn't mean it's that way all over the state...
