I just found a 5 gram, 3.5 micron paste for 8 bucks, that's a lot cheaper than the other prices I've seen. These other prices seem to range from about 20 to 60 bucks for 5 grams, same particle sizes. I just want a couple between 3 and 0.5 micron. Though I did see some 0.1 micron lapping paper, if I thought I was good enough to use it :p

The cheapest are usually oil soluble low concentration monocrystalline. They are available in low, medium, standard and heavy concentrations, natural, synthetic mono and polycrystalline. and water soluble. Better grades are both water and oil soluble, and higher concentrations. Heavy concentration polycrystalline will be more expensive but work the best, but also costs the most. This place is a bit more expensive than some but cheaper than others (about mid-way), but caters to metallurgists and electron microscopists so has a good selection http://www.emsdiasum.com/microscopy/products/materials/polishing_supplies.aspx Diamond sprays would be easier to apply to a strop, if that is what you are thinking of using it for.
