I've been looking all over and cannot find a significant quantity or quality of honing compound. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also does anyone know the grit of a fine india stone and the spyderco triangle extra fine ceramic? I believe the ceramic is finer than the stone but a friend of mine swears his fine india puts any other sharpening equipment to shame.

Your friend has a lot to learn ;)

UF ceramic= 3 microns or around 8000 grit.

Fine indian= 325 grit (someone correct if I'm wrong)

Green compound aka chromium oxide can be found many places like woodcraft.com and leevally.com but trust me when I say you really want diamond compound.

DMT, amplex, and handamerican diamond compounds are at the top of the list and listed in order from good to best. I would suggest 1 micron HA for use after a UF ceramic, its a spray so its easy to apply and 1 micron would not be to large of a jump from the ceramics 3 micron.

Lowes sells Mibro green chromium oxide in a 3.8 ounce tube marked with the number 6 and the words " High Gloss Polishing ".

Yes, but instead of 0.5 microns like quality chromium oxide it 2-5 microns and won't leave as smooth and even of a polish.
