At the cost of giving shameless advertising to knife dealers everywhere (hey a lot of them deserve it, right?), where have you bought your knives, and why? My dad always said people either buy price, quality or service, depending what is important to them. So who's cheap, damn good, or damn nice? None of these qualities are bad, obviously.
I haven't bought enough to determine cheap, my buying habits are kind of sporadic. Quality, obviously, is the manufacturer's business, and I've only bought high end quality in Microtech so far. But for dealers, I've dealt with Josh @ www.pvknife.com, Jeff @ www.confederatecutlery.com, and have gotten a lot of good information from www.rayjayknives.com, and Patrick @ www.tripleaughtdesign.com. My next 2 purchases will come from the last 2 respectively.
This is not intended for people to flame dealers about high-pricing, by the way. I believe this country's free enterprise system should allow the merchants to choose their own price, as long as they aren't involved in price fixing or have a monopoly. It is the buyer's duty to do their homework. Caveat Emptor, eh?
