first off id like to apologize if this isnt the place for this post. wasnt sure where to put it.

anyways i was just curious where some of you get the lanyards you use on your knives. make them yourself? buy from a local shop? buy from online?

im mostly interested in lanyards for folding edcs but if you want to show off the lanyards on your fixed blades feel free! post pics if you want to.

Welcome to BF!
In the past, if I liked a specific lanyard design/style enough - I found a youtube video on it and learned to recreate that specific style. Paracord is really inexpensive, it can be purchased for as little as $.05/ft. There are a lot of really awesome tutorials on YT as well. It's more fulfilling and fun to create your own. ;)

I buy 1/8" paracord in various colors and make my own. I usually use the CRK knot in some form or another:

I just use simple knot lanyards (basically a little noose on the end of my knife) on work knives made of bright orange paracord for easy visibility (ie: If I drop a black or green knife in a field, it helps to have a bright chunk of orange to help spot it).

EDIT: I use the same knot as link2derek posted above. Nice pic.

I don't know if BF brother Josh K is still doing them but all mine are fom him and they are very nice

That is nothing more than a noose with two lines coming out the top.
And yes, I use the same for everything.
And yeah, 13 loops. :-)
