where do you guys get your green compound from?

where do you guys get your green compound from? I'm talking about the real CrO 0.5 micron good stuff and not just some random green crayon which says green rogue on the side.

I get mine from Lee valley, its around $10 for a bar a little bigger than a snickers. I know my dad used to get it in a bar the size of a chunk of 2x4"!!, id love to find that again.

This stuff has performed well for me. Yes it is a big crayon that will last forever though, are you maybe looking for some kind of paste instead?

I have both Lee Valley and the KSF stuff, both are the "fat crayon" style. They both work very well.

BTW, if you do want more of a paste just use a *tiny* amount of mineral oil and mix. Works easily and sets up very smooth on a leather strop.

If you're looking for a specific grit size, you might be interested in looking at Ken Schwartz' semi-paste. Comes in a bottle, just squeeze it onto whatever you want to load up.

I found some green compound at either lowes or home depot, it's Mibro #6 compound in a round plastic tube. Been using it for a few years and haven't felt the need to buy the fancy stuff.
