Where do you hunt/fish?

We have a diverse family of friends on the JK forum that share not only a fondness for John's knives but many other hobbies. I thought I would share a photo of a area I have hunted for 30+ years. It was one of my father's favorite stands and the rock he sat on is still where he placed it decades ago. Friday was the first time I was in that exact spot in 8 - 10 years and it took a little effort on my part to find it. I threw together a quick ground blind then snapped this pic. About 20 minutes later 4 deer walked through and I spent so much time looking through my scope I didn't get pics. To some it may not look like much but it holds a special place in my heart that is surrounded by many memories. Do you have a favorite "fishing hole" or hunting location to share?

I used to hunt on my friends 1300 acre farm in my area, it's all houses now. After that I hunted my in laws farm down near Carbondale until they both passed away. Now I don't hunt anymore. I keep saying I'm going to start fishing again, but it hasn't happened yet (BJACKSON says he will take me, so maybe next year.)

I live on the Alsea river in Oregon, just east of Waldport. The river is fantastic for salmon, steelhead and cutthroat fishing and I'm only 3 miles from the coast. We catch surf perch, flounder, ling cod and many others in the surf here.
I'm also surrounded by woods where the deer and elk are plentiful. We have a herd of elk that summers right across the river but I haven't had time to hunt in a while. Hopefully I can change that.

I hunt based out of my dad's new house in Rock MI. I do most of my fishing on Lake Superior and head to Lake Independence for ice fishing. I really need to figure out how to post pictures.

Bugs57, love the redfish pics. We enjoy catching them when we are fishing the Outer Banks of NC. Of course they aren't redfish then, they are puppy drum. Call them what you want they are one of my favorite fish. Thanks for sharing the pics. I hope you know how lucky you are to have a wife who enjoys fishing with you.

Yes she is a good sport. Has to be to put up with me. I think those puppy drum get pretty big on the Outer Banks. I would love to 4 wheel that stretch of beach with a surf rod. Spent many years surf fishing for Stripers in RI. Nothing like catching a big fish off the beach.

The crew: I'm on the right, Autumn next to me, the photographer (Autumn's son), his wife.

My wife was gracious enough to let her son and I hunt on her birthday. The women brought us lunch in the field so they could get their woods fix too.

Catfish...YUM
Wade that is some pretty country. I wish I had somewhere to hunt down here.

I hunt and fish in Alaska. Depending on when I'm off for moose season will determine the location I hunt. I fish all over when it comes to salmon and I really like to go out of Homer or Seward for halibut and ling cod.
