hear and there lol.
I drive 9 blocks to get to the outside of town. There is a river that runs beside the town I live in. There is also some public and parks and recreation land that boarder each other. it is roughly 3/4 of mile by 1 mile. Timber land with 2 streams that flow into the river and I just have a blast there. I have several spots for fire pits that I go to and just start a fire and relax and practice skills, nature watch, fish and Kelly Girl just loves to walk around the place too.

For me, the forests are everywhere. Across the street, down the road or on the other side of the hill. Anyplace where I find there is plenty of undergrowth. I don't cut down live trees or build shelters everywhere, instead I use the low impact approach and have all my equipment with me.

I have a lean- to and small fire ring in the woods just behind my house. There are also a bunch of State Forests and such close by.

I have a patient with 100 acres 16 miles from my house that lets me have access to it whenever I desire

Critical stuff like tents or sleeping bags get a trial run in the back yard when the weather is right. It is a whole lot easier to walk back in the garage because of a failure than drive severel miles home. I have friends with woods for camping , parks and wildlife management areas . I have a fire pit and fire wood in the back yard

This thread cracks me up. Yes Jay, we all know just how scared of the woods you are!

Well...lot of places here, sometimes in state owned woods where camping is allowed, sometimes in wooded areas of friends farms, and sometimes in my own woods out my back door.

Just out of town. There are river valleys running through the area were I fart around. Yesterday I was removing hard sap chunks from trees and a woman walked by me within 15 feet and didn't notice me standing there. She didn't clue in until her dogs scented me and started up, and when I yelled over not to be alarmed (I was standing there in a camo jacket holding a hatchet), I was just collecting tree resin. She didn't know were I was until she pulled her Ipod plugs out of her head.

If this storm is as bad as they say, then by this time tomorrow I will be practicing bushcraft in my own house. ;)

Right out back most of the time ;)
(Pic taken right out of winter, hence the dryness of it)
