Where do you put your knife?

Front left when I'm carrying just the knife. Or, sometimes, in the back left hip pocket. In the sheath, right front next to my flashlight.
 
Front side right. From across my chest (left to right) when hiking.
 
Right rear pocket unless I am in a crowd.
 
A clip knife I carry in the backside of the front right pocket. As of late I have been EDCing a 110 in a belt sheath just over the right rear pocket. I always carry a small Slippie or Cricket in the right coin/watch pocket. All my jean pockets look like the photo. Probably need new jeans more than a new knife!!! LOL...

Left and right front pockets. Right side is an Endura for general use, left is a Spyerco Captain which has been convex ground at Northern Knives, scary sharp. Captain is for weapons retention when in uniform.
 
I have come to the conclusion that carrying a knife in your rear pocket is a very bad idea.
1. it's more likely to scrape on random things, like cars and leather furniture.

2. It's easy for other people to reach.

3. My knives would constantly hook themselves on car seats and get lost on the floor, finally my Spyderco Lava disappeared permanently that way and I haven't had a knife clipped to a rear pocket since. YMMV

Those with a clip ride in the front where I can keep better eye on them . The traditional non locking folders go in the rear, under my wallet
 
I carry most anything worth keeping in good shape in a belt pouch while hiking in the woods. I've had way too many clips damaged by limbs hooking under them. I still use the clip with cheaper knives, that I'm not so worried about damaging or loosing.
When out and about in urban settings I clip all the way back to the rear of my right front pocket, if wearing something besides jeans (rarely)I may clip inside my purse. But, I never go without a knife no matter where I go.
 
Easy for me. A Buck 110 in a sheath goes on my belt, RR. A Delica 4 gets clipped to RF pocket. Those are the only two dedicated folding knives I own.
 
Bigger folders tend to go to the back pocket. BM32 -- to the narrow pocket inside the jacket (probably designed for pens, but pen goes to yet another pocket -- heh suits are beginning to make sense to me))

I usually keep my LM Fuse in my right front pocket.
If I carry a Fallkniven U2, it goes in the same pocket.
Bigger knives go into my backpack.
I have no need for "self defece" knives.
