I'm looking for a lefty cqc-7 with the emblem and grind on the opposite side of the clip side for a lefty. In the new cqc 7's they just put a righty blade in a lefty knife and cut it to fit the lefty lock. Where can I find a mirror image lefty cqc 7?

I'm not sure the left hand blade exists but lefty locks and clips do. I'd call EKI and ask. I found one on the forums after looking for years and gifted it to my oldest son who is a lefty.

Also post in Wanted section

I posted in the wanted section just trying to figure out if the model ever existed thanks guys for the help

The only 'mirror image' Emerson knives were a couple 6's specially made for the Japanese market many years ago if I remember correctly (right hand chisel grind).

All the chisel ground knives are a left hand grind. They cut just fine once you get to used to them.

The CQC-7V would be a good option (V grind with a chisel edge). And tap it for left hand carry.

Well, to be honest, I gotta say...

Although I appreciate the left handed chisel grind's uniqueness, and appreciate the fact that these knives actually demand a specific skill set just to make em work right, it really is kinda stupid if you look at it objectively.

That grind is there PURELY for exclusivity and branding. And if I had to guess, cost cutting.

Not for functionality.

90 percent of the world is right handed. So sure, you can learn to adapt to the left sided chisel grind. But besides bragging rights or brand loyalty, why on earth should you have to???

People can argue and rationalize all they want. But ultimately, the FACT is, putting the grind on the opposite side would make these knives MUCH more user friendly and practical.

I like em fine just how they are, but it would be bomb if we simply had the option to choose. That would take these knives out of the specialty niche they currently occupy, into the ACTUAL REAL-WORLD BENEFITS realm they deserve to be in.

But hey, they're still awesome!

The standard chisel ground Emerson blade that comes on their righty knives is actually chisel ground to work better for a left handed person. It is actually a common complaint about Emersons.

If the lefty cqc7 comes with the same blade as the righty then you are already getting the best blade for a lefty.

The logo isn’t that important imho.

For a right handed user the left side chisel grind blade pulls away from what you are cutting and is actually more functional for me personally, so I do not have any desire for the blade grind to be reversed.

Also... what are you guys doing with these knives that requires 'precision' slicing, food prep? That's not what these knives are for. My kitchen drawer is full of knives far better suited to slicing carrots.

CQC-7 is designed for making holes in bad people that threaten your life and liberty. Most of us will never use it for its intended purpose, but maybe, just maybe, one day... you never know.

And here they are
