Where does one purchase a non-custom 110 with NS frame and finger grooves?

I've got a custom in this configuration with S30V and ram's horn on order, but I sure would like to have a beater in 420 with wood scales.

Can they be found? Are they a regularly-stocked item anywhere? Google didn't turn up much, and neither did TheBay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

NS frames are a bit hard to find now, add in that you want the FG and it will take a bit of searching or another CS order I think.

Sorry, I don't have a good lead for you. Watch the 'bay would be my best advice and post a wanted add here. I may have a NS 110, I know I have a 111 NS but neither are FG models.

It seems NS models fetch a pretty good price at auction from what I have observed...and they don't ever seem to go un noticed. I just did a mock up on Buck's site and came up with 83$ price tag for 110NSFG with 420 satin and cherywood scales...well within what I would consider a user price tag IMHO...especially considering what an awsome knife the 110 continues to be .

I don't recall ever seeing a N/S FG that wasn't either a custom shop or limited edition knife. I know that I don't have any.

Thanks, guys. Looks like I might be ordering a second custom. And what the heck, might as well upgrade to S30V!

The new 110 Chairman gets you close to your goal Professor. No finger grooves, however.

Ahhhh memories. How we will cherish them. The nickel silver SMKW 110 and only $45. Those were the days. Now only fading memories.....

Speaking of NS framed 110s, what happened to the SMKW Buck Script? It has been out of stock for quite a spell. Another folder adrift on a sea of memories I suppose:

I too.....do not remember seeing any regular production finger grooved 110s with nickel bolsters.

I'm just glad I grabbed a couple of these a while back. Got a free Buck Anvil with them. :)

My last CS 110 was a blue Dymondwood/NS/S30V - $86 and a couple of weeks - included a nylon sheath.

Bad news... it's still too nice to use as a beater!

I missed out on the anvil and it is a hole in my collection. Got a couple of the cool little hammers. Need the zippered pouches now, along with the anvil.

Do you usually avoid the fingergrooves Stainz. I'm certain that they make a better user for my hands but I'm also sure that they make an inferior collectible and I wonder if I've gone overboard with FG in the past. Beautiful custom and the rivets look appropriate.

I'm just curious, why would you think that?

Funny that Oregon would say that. I'd go the other way and say "there are so few they should make better collectables". Other than a few of the more recent LE's and most of those are from the the BCCI fund raiser knives, I could only find one older NK FG 110 LE, in 1987 a NK FG 110 was made for DU....these FG 110 are few and not many made;).

Here are a few NK FG 110 LEs & CS knives for your viewing.

Well, I've started keeping an eye out for deals on older FGs in excellent condition because they are fairly uncommon and I think they will increase in value.

And they're pretty.

:)

The fg's never seem to be 'right' for me. I did get a CS 110 with jigged asian buffalo and fgs, shown below. Also, note the NS/Fiji orangewood 'user' - $84 back then. All three are BG-42 steel, no longer a choice.

Collectibility is not important to me. All of my knives are users... I'm too much of a knife-slut/hoarder to consider selling/trading a knife. My 'user' knife collection mimmics my 'home protection' purpose bought revolvers... I am a black hole for such!

Yowsa! Nice pieces there!

I've always personally preferred the look and feel of FG's. Sorta my way of customizing an otherwise pretty standard profile, but I'd love to have a few without as well.

Thanks everyone.
