Greetings you all :)

A reaction in the "Favorite Alox" thread made me wonder, how is the Alox Solo seen?
It isn't a SAK per se with all them tools in it.
It isn't a traditional either with it's Alox scales and stainless blade.

However it IS a great, almost indistructable, pocket knife you could go to war with:thumbup:

Just wondered what your opinion is about this.

Thanks for reading.

I believe I was the person who posted the "reaction."

To me any Vic or Wenger knife with the swiss cross on it is a "SAK." Obviously the solo isn't a true "multi-tool," however. It's just a knife. I don't own an Alox Solo yet but would love to have one. I do have two alox single layer knives, however, the Pioneer Pruner (like a solo except with an added pruning blade) and a Bantam. I love them both. The Pruner is what has kept me from buying a Solo, since it's nearly the same knife.

I own an alox Solo and a 108mm Solo and consider both of them SAKs. For me any pocket knife made by either Victorinox or Wenger is a Swiss army knife, but again that's just my interpretation of SAK.

Well.. Vic. And Wenger Both Have Also Made Single Bladed Locking SAK's. Victorinox Sentinel And Wenger Ranger 51. They Both Qualify As "Pocket Knives" Yet Are Still Considered And Sold As Swiss Army Knives. Since All Victorinox And Wenger Do Are Swiss Army Knives And "Multi-Tools" Then I Think The Solo, Sentinel, And Ranger 51, Are All Swiss Army Knives.

That's Like The Spyderco Spyderwrench. It's Obviously A Multi-Tool But Is Still Claimed And Sold As A Spyderco "Knife".

So There Ya Go.
