Where have all the Barlows gone?

I'm new to this slipjoint game so I'm still getting a lay of the land, so to speak. In doing so I started building a short wish list of knives to start with and a Barlow is very high on the list.

In searching through various maker's websites I'm surprised to find very few Barlow available. I realize I can watch the used market but aren't there any new Barlow patterns currently in production? I see a couple of what I consider low-end Barlows out there but not much else. I would think Queen and GEC would always keep them in production if they were as popular a pattern as everyone says they are.

EDIT: I've got to wonder the same question about HJ's.

For a Barlow that is less than conventional I highly recommend the Northwoods Madison barlow. There is a SFO coming down the pipeline also for more TC barlows.

GEC has produced many barlows in the last year but most are sold and only found on the secondary market. Some can still be found through their dealers though but options like blade selection and handle material are limited.

Case and Canal Street Cutlery both have barlows in current or very recent production that can be bought new.

I like that but I know Northwoods doesn't make their own knives. Does anyone know who makes that particular line of Barlow?

I've always liked the single blade Boker Barlow, but they seem pretty scarce right now.

I really like A.G. Russell's Medium Barlow, but it's a lockback and some folk around here may object to its steel/country of origin. Still, I think it's a looker and a well designed knife.

The TC Barlows sell like hot-cakes. Charlie comes out with runs of them pretty regularly. Just keep an eye out on the forum to see what's coming up and the configurations. They vary each run as far as blade combo, scale material, etc. They're very well made and a joy to own/carry.

New run of spear point barlows are coming. If you want one get on the list of one of the fine Bladeforums sponsoring dealers. Fine gentlemen, fine knives.

Access to the secret Barlow stash requires sending a private email to waynorth or gunstockjack

we are not supposed to post publicly about buying and selling here because it is against the forum Terms of Service and the mods will be forced to issue infractions that can result in being banned, so I sent you a private email with more info.

also try the search for things you want to find, including Barlow, HJ, Madison
you will find thread titles with those words

enjoy the shopping, post a picture of what you buy

Great Eastern makes those Large Madison Barlows for Northwoods.

At GEC, there is a new run of Harness Jacks, and regular sized Barlows, both coming out by the end of February or so.
The Barlows will have the TC bolster (Tidioute Cutlery), and the Harness Jacks will be Un-X-Ld, with a diamond shield.

Canal Street Cutlery has a Barlow that is in stock at some recommended dealers. Their quality lately has been superb.

If you can get your hands on a spear point Barlow from Great Eastern, you won't be sorry.

LOL! You got it!

I had that song running through my head when I came up with the thread title.

Thanks to all for the replies. I see that GEC is coming out with a new one and will be watching anxiously. And I've found a couple of good sources for older models.

I'll also apply for my secret decoder ring so I can be in the gang.

And the secret question: "What's in Charlie's pockets?"

I'm just getting into traditional and the TC Barlow Sheepsfoot has eluded me. Where should I be looking for new TC releases?
