Hi! does somebody know what hapened to Beck's knives webside? it doesn't show up on my PC anymore! I hope Mr Beck is doing fine!

This is the email I recieved a few weeks ago from Mr Beck, about ordering one of he WSK's.

"Due to the overwhelming workload my web site has been generating which I am no longer able to keep up with, I will be shutting down my website at www.beckknives.com within the next week or two. So if you notice my has disappeared don't worry, I'm still in business making knives. I just can't justify keeping a site running at my level of production."

Hi I new to this forum I have been reading all your comments all great first forum I have registered on.
I was just about to send my money away for the Tops tracker after reading your comments. I'm sold Mr beck sounds like a very sound man :) could anyone please email a way of contacting him, as this is the Knife I need for my line of work.
I work in jungles all over the world :p where money is not the issue relability is.
I once went into the far north east of Cambodia (first white man since the war) with a machete(no name brand) and left it there :grumpy: bought a local machete to finish off the month how I could have used the WSK then.
Thanks again all of you for your insight to these knives

I own a TOPS Tracker and I just love the knife. What is the major diiference with the two? Besides being hand made and the steel. :D

I should preface this by saying that I don't own either the WSK or the TOPS variant, but I have owned several other sawback TOPS. It appears that the Beck teeth are similar in design to those on a SAK saw, in other words it's made to actually cut through things. My experience with the chainsaw style teeth on the TOPS knives is that they work better for notching than actually cutting something all the way through, it can be done, but it takes more effort than I imagine would be required with the Beck version. Hopefully someone can expand on that thought for you.

Thanks Myakka for these sites he looks like a great knife maker and I will have to email him about this knife :D . Any reason why Mr Beck stop making the WSK.

Photo Murray,

I a email from Mr. Beck, he said that he had a neck injury and a bad case of carpal tunnel from so many years of knife grinding. Due to the difficulties he has had to really cut back on knifemaking to hobby status & plan on having some more surgery sometime in the beginning of next year. After recovery, he is hoping to be will well enough to return to knifemaking fulltime again but he will be dropping the WSK line & returning back to the more traditional hunting/woodsmans knives that he really loves to make, and that they easier for him to grind.
