Where is my 110 from Pete's?

I ordered a 110 from PCKS on 3/13/00 with a checkered cherrywood handle and I was wondering if this choice of checkered handle material takes longer to build? I thought I remember reading something in another thread about the MS knives being sent out to another company to have the checkering done. I thought this might also be the case with knives from PCKS. I know that it has not been four weeks, but it only took a week to receive my previous (non-checkered) knife from PCKS. If this knife is half as good as the last one I ordered, it will be worth the wait.

Jeff, I ordered damascus and pearl before you ordered yours - I'm still waiting too. Also waiting on a response to an inquiry on my order. Since I've never ordered from PCKS, I was just kinda playing by ear.

Jeff and Al,

I will let Pete know of your concerns and instruct him to get back with you on your knives. Pearl with Damascus? Wow! That will look awesome! Maybe i better go check on it myself and see if it needs to be "field tested" ;-)
Take care,

Pete has contacted me by phone, and we squared things away. He assured me that my order would be expedited through. Thanks Joe !

I'm in no hurry. I just wanted to make sure that my order had not vanished.
I noticed that there is an article in the new issue of Blade magazine. I'm assuming that this might have something to do with a longer line for PCKS.
I have also noticed that the combination of checkered cherrywood and nickel-silver bolsters with rivets is no longer available at Pete's with the rivets. I hope I have not chosen something too complicated.
Anyway, thank you for your concern.

Ok, now it's been more than a month. Can anyone tell me how much longer the wait might be? Is it taking this long for everyone else out there to get their knives?

Where is my 110 from Pete's ? It just arrived 2 minutes ago ! Yes !

It's damascus, pearl and silver, and it is absolutely SWEET. I had my initials engraved in the blade, and opted for the tan sheath.

This is very high quality work from PCKS. I waited a little longer than I thought I would have to, but this 110 is well worth it. Ah man...I gotta get off this keyboard and get this knife back into my hands. Thanks a million, Pete !

Yes WinDancer, I'd love to show this one to you, and as soon as I get my scanner, I'll post it for your viewing. You should see the depth and different colors of this pearl. It's awesome.

Even my wife, upon seeing the knife, reached out for it and said "Wowwwwww....", so you know it's gotta be nice.

I Placed my second order with PCKS just last night. It should be beauty also.

No kidding ! That's a tough act to follow.

My second was again ordered with damascus and engraving. (I almost went with the mirror polish) For the handle I went with jigged buffalo horn with nickel silver bolsters.

Definitely lower on the WoW-factor scale than the pearl, but I think it's still gonna look pretty good...

Thanks for asking.

I too think that my next knife from Pete's will include jigged buffalo horn. However, I think that I will go with the polished blade, due to the fact that the damascas commands a slightly higher price tag.

Finger grooved or not finger grooved, that is the question.

That's gonna be a nice one ! I think whatever I put together next will also have the polished blade.

Finger grooves or not ? I clicked on and off many times on that one. I think with jigged buffalo it looks nice either way. My hands are a little big so I went without, as buffalo/damascus will be a user.

One of the things my wife said when she saw the pearl 110 was "Don't you dare use that knife". Cool. Just gives me an excuse to buy another.

What a lady.....

Wow! a damascus user. For my "user" I chose BG-42 because I am not certain how well damascus will perform, and how well it will resist corrosion...if at all. You will have to let us all know how well that steel performs.
