Looks like virtually NO other online knife purveyor understands that we collect knives - and as such, are ENTITLED to our own Black Friday.

Online retailers should be ASHAMED for not having new stuff for us to have purchased online yesterday. Seems like no one got this right but Mark Strauss from Knifeology.com!!

This may be tongue-in-cheek, but there's a point here. Why no new knives on Black Friday??

Bob,

I can think of quite a few of your knives that I would like to buy for 50%-70% off if you decide to have a Black Friday & Saturday sale of your collection.

Happy Holidays,

Jim Treacy

A VERY good comeback, Jim!

David, I hope all our purveyor friends do, indeed, take this with a grain of salt. Besides, we can all sit around and thumb through your books to sooth our spirits during this holiday season!

And a happy holiday season to all!

Bob Betzner

Bob, please enlighten me...what the heck is Black Friday??????????

Marcel

Marcel-

"Black Friday" is the colorfully descriptive way the Friday following our Thanksgiving Day* has come to be named - having everything to do with the shopping patterns typically exhibited by holiday buyers on the first "official" shopping day of the holiday season - now typified by the economic downturn.

*In the US, the Thanksgiving Day is the last Thursday in November

Bob, as Jim I was waiting for the deep discount on the Warenski you have listed on the CKCA classifies. ;) :D

Among other reasons, the name "Black Friday" came from the retail chains as they sell merchandise at cost or many times below cost on that day. So it's often a "Black" or sad day as far as profits go. Some say it's because it's the start of the season where retailers finally begin operating in the "Black", however that's not so true.

It was always a very stressful day for me because the bulk of our new stores for the year had to be ready to open on or before Black Friday to take advantage of the start of the Xmas selling season. Sometimes we would open as many as 25 new stores Thanksgiving week.

Hi Ebbtide,

Exactly right!

Many online sellers who don't have store fronts opt for Cyber Monday.

Although I wouldn't be looking for 50% off! :D

My Cyber Monday sale starts at 12:01 AM (EST) Monday!

I'm decent friends with Mark Strauss's son. We actually were enjoying a nice cigar together this weekend at a local cigar and knife shop. I'll let him know you appreciated the gesture.

So we want online knife dealers to advertise stuff for crazy low prices , while only having 2 in stock , like Best Buy and the rest of the retailers ? ;)

last year i had a sale on black fri and did sell one or 2 things i think
if i were to do it now all i would have a re a few razors and a few hunters without sheaths (then i might also haveot rush on making a few things for the MD show in 2 weeks)
