Anyone else is interested in this model? I hope it comes in April/May. I see me having fun in the woods with this one.

1/4" thick 1075, 10" blade and it seems to weigh a bit over 1.5 lbs, the handle shape looks great...

but you can get a hultafors or gransfors hatchet for about the same price (& weight) which should chop wood circles around it

(or the Condor Greenland Pattern Hatchet for about half the money) : )

Screw the hatchet.
I know it is far better for the purpose (woodwork), but still, this is one flipping big knife.
I dont need my Terava Skrama. But it is fun to use. This looks like a Skrama on some steroids. Should be fun.

The Skrama was my first thought in terms of similarities. What do you think the cut off tip (top part) is for? I think it will chop very well and I favor leaving the hatchet at home personally as I don't use one very often and would rather have a blade. Don't use a big chopper knife very often either. I have three Condor choppers (non-machetes) and if you want to count the Hudson Bay and Moonshiner.... than five choppers. I generally like their stuff.

The top cut of part on Skrama is ok to me. Like, I dont really need a point on a 10 inch knife. For my purposes, I am not going to stab anythig but if I need to, it still has a tip. But like I said, on knife this big you are not going to have much control over the tip (when using a handle), so making precision cuts with tip is akwardo.

Skrama is a chopping monster, mostly because of the grind. It is very thin behind the edge (from factory was like 0,7 mm or 0,027 inch) so it can really cut stuff. And it has a long handle, so you have a lot of momentum when you swing it.

and, the thing I love about the skrama is the 80crv2 steel, it's really a nice improvement over 1075 (and the fact it's only half the cost of the condor chopper)

The big Condor that I am especially interested in is the Ironpath knife. I keep putting off buying one. (Why? Because I know I would seldom use it for anything.) I'm also likely to buy the downsized Kephart when it hits retail.

I see that a downsized Hudson Bay is also in the making.... if that kind of design interests.

What is it called? I haven’t seen it before. With the weight, I suppose it should chop at least as well as a Skrama, but why would it chop better than a Golok or Duku?

There could come a time where I decide I just have to have one, but so far it isn’t calling to me.

Henry Beige Henry Beige Its called Woodbuster, it was designed as a bladesport competition style chopper, so it could have max 10 inch blade and 5 inch handle.
It will not outchop Golok (14 inch blade), but it should get the job done.

And yes, I am weird, this is a very niche knife, but I really like it.
