Where is the Field Pup made?

I'd have to go look, I am not sure...
It may be Taiwan... but it has really good grinds, and looks pricier than it is.
Above all, the Field Pup is a very comfortable knife to handle. It's a great user knife...

I am not sure if you have one yet, but the Field Pup like all other fixed blade SOGs are made in Japan. The Japan symbol is engraved on the base of the blade.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I would LOVE to see this Field Pup utilizing the same BG42 steel as the bigger one. The difference in cost would be worth it.

Danbo, the Field Pup is designed to be an affordable small field knife. AUS 8 is a decent steel, and well heat treated works really well in this application. Another important consideration was field sharpening.

This is a great knife for the money! Much under-rated IMHO...:D

Hmmm, I guess the quality doesn't vary much since its all high tech CNC now.

Ron what about the SOG-K Flagship Bowie?
Are they still made in Japan ( http://www.seki-cut.com/Seki.htm / http://www.hattori-hamono.com/image/42-44.jpg )?

Krizzard,
The Field Pup, not SEAL Pup is Taiwanese... The SOG Bowie is still Japanese (as far as I know...):D
But you are right. Have you played with either of the Pups? The Field Pup is very well done!

Yikes! Just like me to jump the gun.
This is so uncool.
What can I say... I'll try to keep my eyes on the ball in future.

Nope, never have handled a Field Pup before.
But I sure do love my SEAL Pup plenty

The Seal Pup is made in Seki, Japan, to the best of my knowledge. One of the best place of blade-making on this planet.

Btw, I love my Seal Pup!!!!! :D
