I used to own a couple of SR-1s, and the integral Ti handle is indeed a breathtaking piece of engineering and machining. But I'm actually looking forward to the LionSpy more because of the G-10 scale on the off side and the blade steel. In fact, the main reason I sold my SR-1s was that I found myself not using them because I preferred the feel of my titanium framelocks that had sand-blasted Ti scales or G-10 scales on the off side over the relatively slippery anodized Ti handle of the SR-1. I'd also take Elmax over Sleipner as the blade steel.

This isn't a knock on the SR-1, which is a great knife with great materials. And in fact, for folks who haven't owned the SR-1, I'd recommend trying that before the LionSpy because the integral Ti handle is unlike anything else on the production knife market.

this is exactly why I had mine bead blasted like a crk finish ,dslteck offers it for free to fellow forum members. I should have it back in three days, dslteck said it came out perfect! I can't wait! The genorosity of him to take time to do this is just too cool! I don't know if I would take elmax over sleipner, I only used the sleipner sparingly before I shipped off handle but I like the way it cut alot more then my 0551. I dunno if it was just zts wide grind but I don't like the way it cuts, reminds me of the way s30 cuts wich I don't like

Very cool! Definitely post some pics/thoughts once you get it back. If it turns out as great as it sounds, I may have to reinvest in an SR-1 and send it to dslteck for the same treatment.

I was just thinking of this and man this wait is killin me, I guess it will only be a matter of time oh well my SR1 will just have to stay lonely a little longer hopefully. And about that ELmax its awesome from what I've seen. They and Sleipner seem to both have somewhat diff personalities but thats just my opinoin
