Hello,

I have been looking at acquiring this tool for a number of years and was recently going to add it to my list of knives to buy this weekend when I noticed a thread elsewhere indicating the product was made in China (as stamped on the actual tool) but labeled made in the USA on the box. I can't find any information on the web and was wondering what the consensus was. It seems that the AUS6A steel suggests a US or Japanese location since most Chinese steels have odd number codes. It does sound like the poster of the other thread recieved a switched out tool. That is, someone took out the Kershaw and returned a poorer quality clone instead.

Is the tool made in China? Has Kershaw recently switched the location of manufacturing? I am curious.

Here is a link to the product in question.

This thread made me remember I used to have a National Geographic tool myself... Now where the heck did I put it?
