I am finalizing the filework design for it and it should be done in short order after that is figured out. I am not used to working on stuff and actually having it look period in design, most of my filework designs are modern oriented so I had to change directions a bit there...

Who does it go to next???

Alan Folts...

Alan, when you're done with it, shoot it to Oz. He's gonna make the furniture for it.

L6,

Shouldn't it come back to me for regrind and hand finishing before having the furniture made?

Jones Knives

Do you hear that?
That is the sound of inevitability.

I'm not a knife maker, and I'm new to this post, so I hope you'll all forgive some dumb questions.
Does this knife really exist? If so it sounds like one heck of a project.
How long has this been going on?
Is anyone documenting with photos each step in the process? For someone like me that doesn't have the talent to make a knife, this would be very interesting to follow.
Are there any plans as to what the final destination of this piece will be?

TIA

As far as I can tell, yes, the knife does exist. The only pic I've seen of it was the preheatreated blade in an old thread that is several pages long. DO a search for it and you'll eventually come across the picture. I think pics along the way would have been cool, too, but I don't think that has been happening unfortunately. The rest of the story you'll have to get from someone else.

Thanks Chiro, I did go back and read the thread, well most of it. I was just hoping someone could bring us up to speed in a Cliff Notes version.

Anyone that's seen my site knows how pichappy I get when it comes to blades. I'll post pics of it when I get it, and just as it's going to leave my shop. I just got some new equipment and learned some new tecniques that I can't wait to apply! Do you think some small garnets recessed into the guard would be way out of line?
