Hi everybody. Dumb new guy here... where can I find the search feature??? It seems like it should be obvious, but it just isn't.

Welcome to BF. Here is a link to the sticky that explains the search feature on the forum:

There is a way to use google to search Bladeforums, here's the link:

BTW: Reading the stickys at the top of each sub-forum page really helps you know the rules and navigate thru Bladeforums.

Pay $10.00 a year, like us lowlife unemployed folk do,
and you can have all the search you want.:D

Bobfre1, welcome to Bladeforums. :)

I moved this thread to Service & Support, where we discuss Bladeforums technical questions. It's also a good idea to read the FAQ at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/faq.php

Unemployed, high school dropouts, and anyone else with a Registered User member level is still welcome here. Don't let these tough guys bother ya! Using a search engine is actually better than the software search, at least, until you get real good at it.

Thanks for the help and the links. I've looked through several of stickys but didn't notice anything about the search being disabled for new (and presumed lowlife) members.

Just saying!
Been unemployed for nine months, and I can afford $10.00 a year.
So most of these high school dropouts can too!:D:D

Thank you so much for the warm and helpful welcome. Unfortunately for me, I've been saddled with an education and a job for some time now, and it doesn't afford me all the free time to read every post when I join a new forum.

The fact is, when a newbie joins a forum and asks an obvious question, they are often flamed and told to "Use the F'ing SEARCH feature." I was just trying to avoid the unnecessary bandwidth asking obvious questions. After poking around for quite some time looking for what is usually quite an obvious feature, I dared to ask my own 'stupid newbie' question. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I would receive both useful and useless responses.

Good luck on your job hunt.

Happy to help. ;)

We were all newbies here at one time or another and with all the info available on BF it takes a while to find what to read and what to ignore. Good luck in your search.

Also, if you can't find what you're looking for just go to the appropriate sub-forum and ask (and if it turns out to be the wrong sub-forum a helpful moderator will move it and leave a link in the original location). Most of us are glad to answer with what we know.

I'd like to point out that it was Spark (owner of this Forum) who provided the Google custom Search for us lowlifes... ;)
